Trempealeau Elementary proudly celebrated its 35th Annual Environmental Day—a cherished tradition that blends hands-on learning, community service, and celebration. This special day is a cornerstone of our school’s commitment to fostering environmental awareness and responsibility in our students—and this year’s event even caught the attention of local media! We were honored to be featured on News 8, highlighting our students' incredible efforts and the impact of this long-standing tradition.

In the afternoon, every grade level rolled up their sleeves to participate in a school-wide spring cleaning effort. Our youngest students in 4K and kindergarten helped beautify the school grounds, planting flowers, picking up litter, and showing great pride in their school environment. First graders contributed with on-campus clean-up tasks, while our second graders took their efforts beyond school grounds to care for the nearby bike trail.

The morning was filled with engaging presentations, where students learned about a variety of environmental topics from local experts, community members, and staff. These sessions sparked curiosity, built knowledge, and set the stage for the meaningful activities that followed.

Third and fourth graders ventured out to Perrot State Park, where they pitched in on park beautification projects and clean-up activities, learning firsthand about the importance of maintaining our local natural spaces. Our fifth-grade students made a big impact at the Trempealeau Lakes, tackling litter and debris to help preserve this important local ecosystem for all to enjoy.

The day culminated in a joyful and inspiring performance by beloved children’s entertainer Tom Pease. His music and message about caring for our world energized students and staff alike, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship through song, laughter, and movement.

This meaningful day would not be possible without the dedication and support of our amazing volunteers and the Trempealeau Elementary PTO. Thank you for helping make Environmental Day a success year after year. Your time, energy, and encouragement help instill a deep and lasting appreciation for nature, community, and service in our students.

Here’s to 35 years of making a difference—and many more to come!
