Walking Field Trip

On Friday, our Trempealeau Elementary second graders took their learning on the move with a walking field trip around our community! This special day gave students a firsthand look at the many local businesses and organizations that help our town thrive.

As part of their social studies unit on community and citizenship, students have been learning about the people, places, and services that make Trempealeau such a wonderful place to live. Their walking adventure brought those lessons to life! From storefronts and restaurants to banks and service providers, students were welcomed inside to learn how each business supports our community’s needs.

Along the way, students practiced important life skills—asking questions, showing gratitude, and learning what it means to be a positive and active community member. The smiles, curiosity, and excitement were contagious as they explored familiar places with fresh eyes.

A huge thank you to all of the local businesses and organizations who opened their doors to our students and took the time to share their work. Your kindness and hospitality made this learning experience both educational and unforgettable.

We are so proud of our second graders for representing Trempealeau Elementary with such enthusiasm and respect—and for discovering that our small town is filled with big lessons waiting to be learned!
