Fishing

Mr. Lovell’s third graders took their learning beyond the classroom walls this fall with an unforgettable outdoor adventure at the Duck Pond — and even had the chance to go fishing!

The day was filled with excitement, curiosity, and plenty of hands-on learning. Students explored the natural environment, observed wildlife, and practiced patience and teamwork as they cast their lines into the water. Along the way, they made real-world connections to science lessons about habitats, ecosystems, and the balance of nature—all while soaking up the beauty of the outdoors.

For many students, this was their first time fishing, making the experience even more memorable. Laughter and cheers could be heard all around the pond as students celebrated every catch (and a few near-catches!), learning that sometimes the best lessons come from trying something new.

Experiences like this are what make learning come alive at Trempealeau Elementary. By blending exploration with education, students not only gain knowledge but also develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world around them.

A big thank you to Mr. Lovell for creating such meaningful opportunities for students to learn through adventure — proving once again that at Trempealeau Elementary, curiosity and discovery go hand in hand!
