Pumpkin Fun!

This fall, Trempealeau Elementary students blended seasonal fun with cutting-edge creativity during a one-of-a-kind Pumpkin + Technology project! Thanks to the generous donation of pumpkins from Schwertel Family Farms, our 5th graders and their 1st grade buddies teamed up for a day filled with imagination, teamwork, and innovation.

The day began with students working side by side to decorate their pumpkins, bringing their ideas to life with paint, markers, and a whole lot of creativity. But the fun didn’t stop there—after their artistic creations were complete, students transitioned to a digital space where they used Keynote and Logitech crayons to recreate their pumpkins virtually.

To take their learning even further, students recorded live videos to share the stories behind their pumpkin designs, practicing storytelling, communication, and digital presentation skills along the way.

This hands-on and high-tech project was a perfect example of how Trempealeau Elementary connects creativity, collaboration, and technology to make learning meaningful and fun. Older students took on mentorship roles, guiding their first-grade buddies through both the artistic and digital steps, while younger students added their energy and imagination to every moment.

From painting to pixels, our Red Hawks showed that when creativity meets technology, the results are truly amazing—and a little pumpkin magic goes a long way in making learning come alive!
