WSU Math Groups

There’s something magical happening in our third-grade classrooms at Trempealeau Elementary and it all adds up to exciting, hands-on learning! Our friends from Winona State University (WSU) are back on campus, teaming up with teachers to bring extra support and creativity to math instruction.

Through this ongoing partnership, WSU education students work directly with our third graders in small group settings, helping to reinforce key math concepts and build confidence in problem-solving. These smaller groups allow for personalized learning experiences where students can ask questions, practice new strategies, and receive one-on-one attention — all while having fun with numbers!

For the WSU students, it’s a valuable opportunity to gain real classroom experience and see firsthand how to make learning engaging and effective. For our Red Hawks, it’s a chance to connect with new mentors who bring fresh ideas, energy, and enthusiasm into the classroom.

Together, these partnerships are making a meaningful difference. By combining strong instruction, individualized support, and a spirit of collaboration, we’re helping every student see that math isn’t just about numbers — it’s about curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

✨ A huge thank you to Winona State University for your continued partnership and for helping keep the math magic alive at Trempealeau Elementary!
